I aim used to use the Microsoft explorer as a brouwser and when I made a shortcut to the desktop, 9 out of then times, the icon of the website was automatically used for the icon. Now that I made opera my standard brouwser, all of the icons are changed into the standard red O of opera. When I look at the properties, I cannot change into the icon I used to have,
What do I need to do so that Opera just like explorer uses the icons (automatically) from the website themself ??(hope I explained the problem correctly)

[InternetShortcut]
URL=https://www.example.com/

in the source of the url file. For it to work how you want, Chromium-based browsers need to update the shortcut feature to emit:

[InternetShortcut]
URL=https://www.example.com/
IconFile=http://www.example.com/favicon-32x32.png
IconIndex=1

instead like Internet Explorer does. Then things will work.

You can edit a shortcut with a text editor, add the missing info, save, launch the Windows Task Manager, select Windows Explorer and click "restart" for it. Then you'll see the icon for the shortcut change to what you want.

So, in short. Opera doesn't support this at the moment. But, it should be possible for Opera to add it.
