Then if you didn't like the stock calendar / gallery / browser and uploaded another, it would get put in the calendar / gallery / browser folder with the other... which would automatically become 'UNINSTALLable', instead of just sitting there hogging Mb and occasional snoop data / battery.

While Google may abandon it, they can't withdraw it And as the OS is open source, someone else could decide to maintain it afterwards. Google+ requires a server maintained by Google to exist while Android does not. So Android can't "go away"

One it comes to GAFA, they don't play by the roles, they don't respect us.
You say Google, I was an active Google+ user because it's content is reachable by search engines so it's not lost like other Social Network and what did we get ? They decided toshut it down, just like that. I have no trust in GAFA, and Google in particular, they can delete any service any time. What guarantee do we have that they will keep Android after they finish the new mobile OS ? NONE.

However ... did you notice that one European court has said that all apps other than the appropriate app store (and those required by the app store - in Google's case the Google Play Services) must be deletable. And they didn't specify Google, so it would also apply to iPhones (allowing you to delete iTunes, for example), Amazon Fire tablets and phones, etc.
