<p dir="auto">I just downloaded Opera for Android and it immediately showed memory usage of 55MB in Main settings of My Asus Transformer TF101. I was thinking it must have something to do with the fact that I already have been using Opera Beta and Opera Labs with Extension for years now.</p>

Android manages RAM. Android will take Opera out of RAM if/when it needs the space.</p>

It's based on Chromium, so it weights just as much as Chrome.</p>
