Chrookmarks does not create root-level folders, but it allows creating them anywhere below the two root-level ones, Other Bookmarks and Bookmark Bar. The latter is mapped to the standard bookmark bar, changes made via Chrookmarks are displayed on the standard bookmark bar immediately.

I do use the "Add Bookmark" extension. Works very well.

In any case, the folder creation is a minor issue. It can be done as mentioned above.

I pretty well now have Opera 21 customized exactly as I want. It's not that bad.

Thanks for your input again.

https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/add-bookmark/?display=en

It puts a star on the right of the Address bar, and also if you right click on an empty place on a web page, you get a context menu with the star. Through either, you can create a bookmark, and place it in a folder. It's quite good. I like it. It's very intuitive and useful.

Still it doesn't create a folder, at least not as far as I can tell. No big deal though. To create the folder, I need to right click on the right side of the Personal Bookmarks bar at the end (in a free space), and choose Add Folder. Then I name the folder.

To anyone who has used this extension, what "star" icon are they talking about?

So if you'd rather a minimalist look, you can sort of toggle the bookmarks bar back with alt P (for settings) and then put check in show bookmarks bar. And then after you have your folder, alt. P, and take the check out. That's relatively painless There may be a bookmarks manager extension to create the folder, but the one I use doesn't do it.
