I think the organization or lack of it in the new format for preferences is absolutely awful and very much hope someone there comes to their senses and makes the old format available once again. Until recently I was able to disable opera://flags/#new-md-settings in order to get the old design, but as of today alt-p causes a crash so I have had to enable the new settings in order to access preferences.

Material design is better applicable for tablet/phone than for the desktop. Now Opera crashes everytime when trying to open settings with the new md option is disabled and this is not funny at all.
