<![CDATA[how do I disable extension requests?]]>Does not even seem to be an option. That bugs me as I hold Opera to a higher standard than the other browsers.

I know only one extension that Opera will offer you to install it. That is, when you visit CWS -chrome web store, opera will offer you to install one of the in-house extensions, to help install other Chrome extensions into Opera.
And that is, only first time when you visit CWS... so, it doesn't repeat it self.

like @blackbird71 wrote, many sites can fake message styles, so that they look like Opera native bar (gray horizontal bar on top of the page). They may look like part of the Opera UI (or any other browser), but they not...they are part of the web page.
I know that websites like Amazon offering visitors to install extensions (this one is scary, it even added toolbar button instantly without me allowing installation)

Ok, well I will take a thorough look next time it happens. What I can say though is that it cannot be handlers or notifications as I have already set them to never, or if it's called disabled. I am quite sure it's extensions, but now it has been like a week ago or so from the last time I saw the annoying question. Next time it happens, I will make sure to read the request and save its text exactly as is.

Thank you. Yes I know about that but the presentation certainly seems to be part of the Opera UI and not some site script.

This is different from notifications and for the same reason that I absolutely hate extensions I have notifications set to auto blocked. There is no apparent setting to do the same for extensions.

I may come across as angry, which I certainly am about extensions and notifications and what have you, but I do appreciate your replies.

Or you are saying that one or more of your extensions are showing requests when you access a site?

Did you already try to disable your extensions and then enable one by one to see which one is doing it?

And was talking about the extension own settings.

The requests come from different websites every now and then, they want to add themselves for whatever reason to "enhance" my Opera browser. I feel like I must be able to set, in stone, that I do not accept any such requests.

I have checked the extension area in the Opera settings but there's only options for sorting already accepted extensions.
