The reason given in the downloads list is 'Interrupted: Insufficient Permissions.'. I've looked through all my Opera settings and can't find anything which could be causing this. This issue only started a few month ago, all was fine until then.

If they can't modify the files they can't encrypt them.

It was Bitdefender which had blocked Opera accessing my protected files in the 'Safe Files' folder. I've unblocked it and all is working. I don't know why BD would block it, and hope it doesn't cause any security issues.

Thanks for that. I'm glad we've narrowed it down, but what could it be in my user profile that's causing the problem, and how do I solve it?

Goto the URL
opera://settings/downloads
and change it to somewhere like a folder on your desktop or a folder somewhere in your home directory.

Also, as avl said in the other thread, open up a terminal, type:

open /Applications/Opera.app --args --user-data-dir=$HOME/.opera-throwaway

and press enter. When you do that, Opera will open up with a fresh profile to test with (it won't interfere with your normal Opera profile). When that instance of Opera loads, log into Outlook and try to download some attachments. Does it work then?

Another thing you could try is to create a new user account on your computer to test with. Log into it, launch Opera and try to download attachments in it. Any difference there?
