This doesn't:

Nor this:
[Advanced] - [Address dropdown widget]
button3 = New page

Could anyone confirm this? It seems middle click on address bar is limited to Paste and go?

No.

For an example Clear & Paste and go works too.**

This will work:

Clear&Insert,"file://localhost/C:/index.html" & Go

(but for the current tab only)
