<![CDATA[Two issues with Opera on Manjaro (Gnome / Wayland)]]>Two issues with Opera 54.0.2952.60 on Manjaro (Gnome / Wayland):

  1. Maximize / Minimuize / Close buttons disappear when maximized. This was reported by people as far back as 2016, it seems (Google fu) and still an issue??
  2. If I close Opera and don't run an app (any app) before opening it again, the system hangs for several minutes before Opera suddenly pops on screen, and auto-maximizes for some reason.

I get similar issue with window buttons not shown when maximised
There is a close button to right of tab menu, but nothing is visible except a hover tootltip "Close"
Double clicking in blank space to left of tab menu will restore window size

  • Seems like a gnome issue to me.
  • Blame gnome and/or wayland. Use xorg and/or another desktop enviroment to check.

    On Debian you can setup to show or hide this buttons.
