<![CDATA[Opera 53.0.2907.99 broken on mint]]>Since a little while opera does not start anymore on my laptop.
After executing rm -rf .cache/opera .config/opera I can start it up again but after I close it and restart it the process seems to hang. Only after executing the rm command again will it start again.
I have tried with a dpkg --purge opera-stable and then re-installing but the problem persists.
The only thing I see on the console is

$ opera

  • opera-stable 53.0.2907.99 from deb.opera.com/opera-stable/

On KDE Opera uses kwallet, and there are comparable apps on other desktops.

FYI I found and fixed the issue. Due to some issue with my git client I had removed the gnome-keyring package from my system. Reinstalling this package fixed opera.

Perhaps the deb package should add this as a dependency or issue a warning about the absence of the package?
