One other thing might be a corrupted cache file, might try emptying cache then restart Opera and then try to load the pages again

If so, did you mess with any settings in opera://flags? If so, reset them. And, as said, goto opera://extensions and disable all of your extensions to see if the problem goes away. If so, then you can enable each one and test to find the one causing the problem.

Also, in a previous version, When I saved an image, a download filename appeared. Once I clicked on it, I could edit (e.g., crop, color, brightness, size, etc) the image. Is this feature available in the latest version of Opera.

In Opera, when you save an image, you can double-click the filename that shows up near the top right of the page to have the image open in the default program for that image type. That should work the same between 20 and 21. I don't think Opera itself can do all those tweaks to the image. So, the image must be opening in some image editing program. Whatever it was, you could set that program to handle that type again. You should be able to do that in "Default Programs" in Windows.
