<p dir="auto">I concur. I use this. I also use a Send link by mail bookmarklet that I had in Chrome and dragged/dropped it to the Opera bookmarks bar. Works well for me.</p>
<p dir="auto">But built-in Send link by email would be nice. I don't understand why most of the desktop browsers shun it tbh.</p>

<p dir="auto">If you install <a href="https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/install-chrome-extensions/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">this extension</a>, you can install Chrome's <a href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/share-link-via-email/ejdbkikfbnnhmachnnomjfgjbgkcnjkb" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">Share link via email extension</a>. It's worked fine for me.</p>
<p dir="auto">Which one isn't working reliably for you? <a href="https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/mailto-button/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">mailto button</a>? Are you wanting it to launch a compose tab/window in an external client or in a webmail page in Opera? If the latter, what webmail service specifically?</p>
