Before, when i clicked on the heart icon on the sidebar it would take me to my 'Other Bookmarks' menu which i have nicely set up with custom preview images and folders. Now since a few weeks ago the heart icon takes me to the 'Bookmarks Bar' menu instead which is empty, so i then have to click on the 'Other Bookmarks' menu from there manually. It is very annoying, how do i get it back to the way it was before.

@adzzy21 You don't, they have changed it and there's no way to set a different folder.

@leocg omg. Why? if i wanted to see my bookmarks bar, i would LOOK AT MY BOOKMARKS BAR. It doesnt make sense to make it a priority in the bookmarks MENU.

@adzzy21 I think they are right, there shouldn't be different bookmarks depending on how you access them. You should see the same bookmarks no matter if you access them using the bookmarks bar, the bookmarks manager/page or the bookmarks menu.

I also vote for opening 'Other Bookmarks' by default when we click the Heart Bookmarks icon in the sidebar.

In Chrome you have chrome://bookmarks/?id=2 for example to directly load "other bookmarks" by URL. That doesn't seem to work with 'opera://bookmarks/?id=2. But, if it did, there could at least be an extension that adds an icon to the sidebar where when you click it it goes to "other bookmarks".

Speaking of extensions though, you ought to see what's available in https://addons.opera.com/en/search/?query=bookmarks. There might be a bookmark sidebar extension that lists things how you like.
