Firstly, double clicking opens a menu, not the picture, secondly, there is no default app to view photos. My only choice is Opera which does nothing - no windows or photos open.

After a lot of messing around I managed to choose Windows Photos app as the default but now this crashes when I open it.

Now I can't open photos at all as the option to change default app is gone and I;m forced to use Windows Photos which crashes.

a) How can I change the default app?
b) What do you guys do for photo viewing from Opera mail on Windows 10?

Thanks in advance

handlers.ini

Opera Preferences version 2.1
; Do not edit this file while Opera is running
; This file is stored in UTF-8 encoding

[image/png]
Type=Viewer
Action=7
Application=C:\Program Files\Opera\launcher.exe
Application Description
Web handler
Plugin Path
Plugin Name
Plugin Description
Save To Folder=
Extension=png
Flags=128

to Opera Mail's preferences directory. See "Menu -> Help => about Opera Mail" for the location. Then, you'll get an entry to Open in the Opera web browser in the "open with" menu in the attachment.

Add more entries for other image types. You can view source of an image with an attachment to see what content-type an attachment is, so you know what one to add.

You can goto "Alt + P -> advanced -> downloads" in Opera 12, configure all the types you want to open with a specific application and check "pass web address directly". Then, apply and close Opera 12. Then, you'll have its handlers.ini that you can just copy over to Opera Mail.

If I set the default photo viewer to paint, it opens with paint.
