What I want is Opera's speed dial shows my website's logo and not just a screnshot. Or (if this is posible) to show my latest news.

It's a WordPress website (self hosting).

However I am using icons on my speed dial! Perhaps I missed something in reading the above.
If I remember correctly the icons were automatic!

Now, you have to copy the address of the web page, and paste the entire adddress in the "add a site" "add to opera"
page. Boom, an icon comes up!

Not sure this is what you were discussing, but it sure cleaned up my speed dial!

Cheers!

HTML element link for icons (like Apples icon or SpeedDial icon) do not work any more on Opera 20 Desktop.

Only the preloaded "partner" sites get to use icons in the latest available versions. I hope they re-implement it for everyone else too, probably nothing stops them and they'll in the future.

You might want to consider implementing the "tile icon" for Opera Coast too:

It's not possible ATM.
The documentation available (now off-line from Dev.Opera) works only for Opera 11.1~12.x. To cater these users and perhaps future-proof as it might work when(/if) they re-add the Speed Dial thumbnails mechanism back in the browser you can follow this guide:

Hi, thanks for your answer. I think that almost everybody using the latest Opera version (20), so I want the Speed Dial icon of my website to work at any version of the browser. Why Opera doesn't create a WP plug-in so people can install it and this plugin do all the work? I hope Opera team see this post. So, is there any other way to optimize my website for Opera Speed Dial?
