Maybe you have added some extensions that are slowing you down. You could try deactivating them all and see if that makes a difference.  If it does, you could re-activate one by one to try to find the culprit.  Or maybe something in Opera got corrupted, from an add-on or whatever <img src="https://forums.opera.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/emoji-one/1f642.png?v=89iooh84962" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-emoji-one emoji--slightly_smiling_face" title=":)" alt="🙂" />  Do you have an earlier Opera profile that was from a time when Opera 20 was working for you. If so you could substitute the current profile for that one. If all else fails, here's a link on how to reset the Opera browser, and involves deleting the Operapref.ini file I've never done it myself <img src="https://forums.opera.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/emoji-one/1f642.png?v=89iooh84962" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-emoji-one emoji--slightly_smiling_face" title=":)" alt="🙂" /> but it's a thought.  Since it would delete all of your preferences, maybe you could save it somewhere, and restore it later, if the deleting accomplishes nothing. Also, you could always uninstall the browser and reinstall.</p>

<p dir="auto">One final thought.  You might want to wait a bit, and see if people with Windows 8.1 comment on this. I use Windows 7.</p>
