<![CDATA[Opera 50 - Bookmark Favicons Reloader]]>Sometime on the 18th or 19th of January 2018, my browser was crashing at times even before that, but on this day, the browser crashed again and all my favicons on all my bookmarks disappeared.

I didn't think of saving them at the time.

I'm wondering if you can make something like Firefox's Favicon Reloader?

Where you can reload all of your previous favicons without having to go into every single link and reloading the favicons.

For example: You're in the bookmarks page, highlight which bookmarks you want to have the favicons reloaded and right-click your mouse for a favicon reload option or what if you press a single button in the bookmarks page where it will reload every single favicon in all of your bookmarks.

Or if on Youtube, the favicon is reloaded as the thumbnail from the video or if you reload a favicon off a website with images, it uses the main image or close enough main image as the favicon for the bookmark.

Please can you make this come true?
I lost over two years worth of favicons.

If they are in the profile (and where else would they be?), then the file would be in there. I did not want any favicons in my bookmarks, so I tried locking the Favicons file and that did the trick.

I found that locking the Favicons file prevented any favicons getting into the bookmarks. I have all the bookmarks on the bookmarks bar, so maybe that is why it worked for me.

You will need to restore the thumbnails manually.

However you would loose all information got from that time to today.

Even if a restore feature would be implemented, it wouldn't be able to restore anything prior to when it was introduced because it wasn't made any backups yet.

I also have got some new bookmarks since then.

Then I downloaded the favicon file but it said it may have been damaged.

Can I get the favicons uploaded from before 19th Jan 2018?

I told you that. There is a file in Opera's profile called Favicons. Back that up and it should save the favicons.

I didn't think of it at the time.

I downloaded a file from my profile called favicons.
I look at in pdf format.
It says it may have been damaged or the file type is not supported.

I clicked on some pdf files that may have been the thumbnails but it said they no longer existed.

But what about extras?
That shows a whole page of letters and numbers and it has a file size of 15.9mb.
Can these thumbnails from before the 19th of January be inserted back into the bookmarks?
Keep the bookmarks original?

The crash most probably damaged some of the files in Opera's profile folder, what did the thumbnails to be re-fetched.

What if the thumbnails just aren't showing?

What if the crash forced them to hide away or something like that?

By the way, some of my older bookmarks need their old thumbnails restored.
Some are loaded with the wrong ones.

If you get back your favicons, try backing that up to prevent losing the favicons again.

I don't want the bookmarks to look any different.

Bear in mind, I have deleted some bookmarks since the issue started but I have also added some new bookmarks.
Some other bookmarks have different thumbnails than before.
