<p dir="auto">On vivaldi it work after change the User Agent and install vivaldi-widevine &amp; vivaldi-ffmpeg-codecs (I am on archlinux)<br />
With Opera I try to change the User Agent, install opera-ffmpeg-codecs and make test with  chromium-widevine, google-chrome and vivaldi-widevine &amp; vivaldi-ffmpeg-codecs but nothing work sad</p>

<a href="http://libwidevinecdmadapter.so" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">libwidevinecdmadapter.so</a> is obsolete anyway on newest versions of browsers. But netflix works out of the box with firefox. With vivaldi, only <a href="http://libffmpeg.so" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">libffmpeg.so</a> and <a href="http://libwidevinecdm.so" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">libwidevinecdm.so</a> - no ua switch needed. Have not tried chromium lately, but a start with --user-agent= something would probably work.<br />
Newest opera's on linux need some work.</p>

<li>Did you use the right setup in the point 2?</li>
<li>Do you use also another user agent besides the one mentioned in the point 2? If yes then switch it off.</li>
<li>Check also what you have in the file widevine_config.json. It should be located in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/resources<br />

But the problem is that the video is loading forever (<a href="https://imgur.com/WWyH4vt" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">https://imgur.com/WWyH4vt</a>).<br />
And it doesn't matter if I have Chrome installed or not, i. e. if there's an additional <a href="http://libwidevinecdmadapter.so" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">libwidevinecdmadapter.so</a> file, the video will still load forever. The widevine_config.json file is also configured correctly.</p>
<p dir="auto">I don't know what I'm doing wrong...<br />

It is a big part of browsers' use nowadays and I cannot imagine a modern browser without that functionality.</p>

But please do invest some of your precious time to write at least a tutorial or howto or am I asking too much?</p>

<p dir="auto">As we all see from the above, opera expects to find the widevice libs inside chrome's installation path. Why not add the</p>

<p dir="auto">path to the above. It is where ubuntu's chromium package installs the same libs. I mean, opera checks for the ppapi flash in various locations in order to find it, so why not look for the widevine libs elsewhere? Editing these files to add the proper path, as far as I know, breaks opera because it somehow checks the "originality" of them and fails to start.</p>
<p dir="auto">And all that is just a part of a bigger discussion about customizability, e.g. the default search engines follow the same rules and cause the same problem if their file is altered.</p>
