There is no "sometimes", it is all the time.<br />
I manually update when my virus scanner tells me that it is out of date. That way I am not manually updating every other day for the minor updates.</p>
<p dir="auto"><strong>But I shouldn't have to do it that way!</strong></p>
<p dir="auto">I should be able to click "about Opera" and get updated.</p>

You could delete the install folder and run the installer to install it back to "\Program Files\Opera" instead if you want. You'd do it just so it's in the right place. It'll work fine in the x86 folder.</p>
