May be. But the topic starter use 32 bit version of Opera 45. So, there will no be fix for that bug.

Yes! This site doesn't work fine in Windows version of Opera. It looks like Opera has a lot of bugs.

Well, it plays, but I don't hear any sound except for a blip of the audio now and then. In Opera 51, it plays fine, but it takes a bit to buffer before it plays. In Chrome, it plays fine right away.

Try installing chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra too

My system says that these codecs are installed and up to date. But they don't work in Opera. I think that this happens because Opera is not the latest version. On the html5test.com page I can see that there is no support for mp3, but Chromium has this support.

It seems I am getting too old to remember that ubuntu builds 2 seperate codecs packages from chromium's source

---edit
One more thing. In order to verify what opera supports and what does not, please visit html5test.com and check what codecs are checked under the audio section.

If you can install chromium ffmpeg codecs,, which I am sure you can because mint 17 is based on ubuntu 14.04 and ubuntu 14.04 is still supported, please do
