<![CDATA[Visual C++ runtime library error]]>Hi,

When I open opera I get this runtime error.

I found this post:

"If you rename opera_autopdate.exe in Opera installation folder, does error go away?"

My answer is yes. When I do this it works.

As this topic is locked I could not continue there. My question is should I just always use the newly named launcher? Or is there some other step that would have come next if the OP replied?

Can you tell me what's happening when I launch opera with the renamed opera_autoupdate.exe vs normal?

Opera will run but will not autoupdate itself, even the extensions would be affected.
Going to "About Opera" - checking for updates will give an error.

Would you also be able to tell me what visual c++ library requirements opera has? Or if not, maybe share with me the c++ versions you have installed

I did not even think about to check it as a fix.

I just tried the offline install now and it has not fixed the issue. "opera_autopupdate.exe" still works no problem. however the 'launcher.exe' Gives me the runtime error

"Computer browsers" option, fixes the problem.
