Is there also a power user option to add Ecosia to the standard search engines? I personally don't care that it says "google" in Speed Dial but I'd like to always be redirected to ecosia whenever I type some words in the address bar.

You can hide the Google search bar though, with a little trick. You can use the "Konami cheat code" by going to the settings page, click on an empty spot and press with your arrow keys (up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right and then the "b" and "a" keys. This leads you to power user mode which gives you additional options in the settings menu. You can then go to the "Browser" section in the settings menu and scroll down to the "Start page" undersection where you can checkmark the "Hide search box" option.

I'd like to request this too. I used to have Ecosia as my default search engine on my Speed Dial, but it no longer seems to be supported. I contacted Ecosia about it, and they said that, while they are doing their best to bring back the functionality for Opera, they need support from Opera to make this possible again. It would be great if Opera could work with them to bring this great feature back.
