In your screenshot, the panel's font is unchanged too.</p>
<p dir="auto">As for lxappearance, which I did NOT suggest installing because its settings will probably be ignored by gnome or overwritten by gnome-tweaks configuration, the font selection button is right under the preview window in the widgets tab</p>

Changed from verdana size 10 that I use on my gtk apps to times new roman size 12!</p>
