I updated to 50.0.2759.0 and this issue still exists - clicking on the heart icon to add a new bookmark or to update the existing bookmark (if heart is filled/red) causes the bookmark bar to appear.

Previous thread, now closed:
https://forums.opera.com/topic/23014/bookmark-bar-reappears-even-after-disabling-it-repeatedly

As noted in the previous thread, fairly benign in nature, just an annoying issue if you don't want the bookmark bar to be visible.

Having just upgraded, I haven't seen it appear in response to other page events yet so that specific issue may be fixed in 50.0.2759.0. However, definitely still appearing when adding/editing.
