I've set all the Location settings in Win 10 Fall Creators to stop MS sending info, but websites are also picking up my IP address I think. How can Opera stop this without using a vpn which slows my internet right down?

The Opera 48.0 Help page says

Settings > Preferences > Advanced > Network and uncheck "Enable automatic redirection".

Can you please tell me how exactly have you found this help page that says that? I am trying to reproduce but I don't see it if I open Help from within Opera 48.

Where I do see such suggestion it is on old Help pages for Opera 12 (Presto) - but you have to google that page up...

You're 100% right about that. The Help pages must and will be reorganised and updated - it is on our roadmap already but unfortunately this is not a small not easy task. This is isn't the only instance judging by answers to similar questions on other forums, all referencing settings that don't exist in this latest version.

Opera, out of all browsers, provides you with VPN that is the ultimate solution (but you know that already)

However, some websites use other signals, not just your IP address, to figure out that you should see Spanish version.
On of such signals is called
Preferred Languages
and you can actually change it in Opera preferences: look for
Browser > Languages
section. If you have Spanish there try to drag it lower, so that English is the first on the list or try to remove it altogether and see if that helps. It might work on some websites but will definitely not work on all. Your IP still gives out your true location, unless you're connected to VPN.
