<p dir="auto">Some years ago I used Free Download Manager quite a bit.  It was pretty easy to configure and was not speed throttled even though it is totally free. <p dir="auto">Edit:  I used to use FlashGot too btw.  But unless you are doing multiple links you really don't need an extension.  FDM has a drop target.  Just drag the dowload link and drop it on the target window to download.</p>
