<![CDATA[Import and Export Passwords from or to a file]]>Since there currently is no way to copy passwords from one installation to another (except you have set up password syncing which is by default disabled) I would highly appreciate this feature, because I have more than 100 sites with login data and can't use it anymore on my new Windows installation.
Even if you copy the files in the Opera profile folder, the passwords won't be restored (Login Data, Login Data-journal).

Here is what the Opera for Windows FAQ says:

I copied Opera's profile folder to a new OS installation but my saved passwords don't show up

Stored passwords are encrypted using the OS login credentials and can't be used in another computer or by another in the same machine
To migrate your saved passwords to a new computer or OS installation you need to use Sync.

Briefly, if you haven't checked to sync passwords you're $%&§?#*!

It would be nice to have an import/export feature right in the browser because this is something essential

For your particular Passwords problem, you could use the NirSoft Chrome Pass dumper, then type each one in Opera and sync or use any Passwords Manager and they will be available in any browser and device (Cloud/Extensions/Mobile Apps).

First I thought WebBrowserPassView already has the passwords included, but I was wrong.

Since I still have the old Windows Installation on a HDD connected internally to my motherboard, I could recover ALL of my passwords from my old User Profile! Now I only have to save and format the password list to a comma-separated file and import it with Opera.

For anybody who wants to recover passwords from another Windows installation or User (or backed up profile folder), follow these steps:

What you need prior to recover your passwords:

  • A previous or current Windows installation
  • Your User Password for that Windows Installation
  • Your User Folder for that Windows Installation
  1. Download and open ChromePass
  2. Press F9 or go to File > Advanced Options
  3. Select the option "Load the passwords from another Windows user or external drive:"
  4. Enter or select/browse for the User Profile path, e.g. E:\Users\John
  5. Check the option "Advanced external drive settings:"
  6. Enter the path for the Windows Protect folder from this user, e.g. E:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Protect\
  7. Enter the path of the Opera Profile folder, e.g. E:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable\ or F:\Backup\Opera Profile\
  8. Click OK and wait! It might take some time if you have huge number of passwords.

If you have the Wand.dat or the LoginData file, you could read the data and back it up to a user friendly file/app.
Don't remember if Presto passwords can be imported to Blink using the import presto data switch.

I forgot about the Flag, tested it right now and works fine, saves the passwords to a .CSV.

Nope. I'm using NirSoft WebBrowserPassView and no matter if I launch it on my old or new Windows installation, the "Password" column for Opera (Chromium) is blank. There are only todays three passwords that I saved, everything prior to today is missing

The only good news:

  • I still have an old wand.dat with my Opera (Presto) passwords
  • I have a printed report from NirSoft WebBrowserPassView which I created some time ago

EDIT:
I also forgot my Opera account / Sync password. So I had to create a new one and reset my sync data. Therefore the passwords are gone...
