<![CDATA[Many layout features not working on Windows 10 as VirtualBox guest]]>Many windows layout features are not working for me in Windows 10 running inside VirtualBox:

  • No suggestions are displayed under the address box when I start typing;

  • The toast with URLs is not being displayed when hovering over links;

  • When any sidebar app is clicked (i.e, Whatsapp), the entire browser stops responding to clicks, except for the Opera menu button. Clicking the menu button makes it start responding again.

Running version 45.0.2552.812 (PGO). On version 42 everything was working (except the sidebar, of course).
On my Windows 7 machine, everything works fine.

I have no extensions installed. Actually I just uninstalled completely and reinstalled the browser, and the issue remains.

You have to create or mod an Opera's shortcut and add this switch in target:
-disable-dwm-composition

Adding -disable-dwm-composition fixes it.
