Developer versions are "bleeding edge" with experimental features that come and go with each release; Next is feature-frozen, but is still being tested for instabilities and bugs; and Stable is the "final, released" version, for general consumption. Note that with the rapid release cycle, the version within each category may be auto-updated quite frequently.
