<![CDATA[Certain Videos Do Not Play]]>I have had this problem for awhile through several version of Opera. Opera support essentially ignores me. Youtube videos always work. Videos from mlb.com always work. However, videos on many other sites do not play, such as on MSN. Videos on Twitter and Facebook do not work.

When I try to play this video I get this error message:

"We're sorry, an error has occurred when playing video (video format is not supported)."

I can play this video, but I have to click play to run Adobe Flash player.

So did you find a workaround or a solution? because it's happening to me, no GIF are showing, certain youtube videos also, and definitely those videos you shared...

No. I am long-time Opera Mobile user since my Windows 5 phone, and I decided to give Opera on my laptop a try I think in about the last 1½ years or so. I enjoy the browser, but always had this problem with it. I tried Opera Beta through a few versions as well, and then when I realized that wasn't going to work, I went back to using standard Opera.

Just curious: What is different in Chrome that makes the videos work?

Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible.
Opera depends on the OS to play some proprietary codecs so if the OS can't play them so can't Opera.

That's too bad. I appreciate you and everyone else that helped me troubleshoot. I guess I will have to open Chrome when I want to watch one of those videos.

You need to make sure that all codecs are removed.

You are on to something! I uninstalled K-Lite Codec Pack and Windows Media Player will no longer play the video.

I disabled it an restarted but still had the problem.

I realized this did change the MSN videos. It played the audio of the video, so that is a start! The video screen just showed the video preview the entire time.
