<![CDATA[No provided way to backup bookmarks]]>Why does Webkit Opera provide no way to backup the bookmarks? Every other browser I have used provided some way to backup bookmarks, but I had to add an extension to Opera to enable that. I think that omission was a serious oversight.

What format is the bookmarks file in the profile? I

It can be opened in a text editor so I guess it uses some kind of text format.

The backup I do is HTML, which can be imported into any browser

So you want an export tool and not a backup one.

And can't you do a separated backup for the Bookmarks file?

Every time I change anything in the bookmarks, I want to back them up again, but not necessarily to backup the entire profile.

In case anyone else wants to know where to find the profile in MacOS, the pathname is:
Macintosh HD > Users > [username] > Library > Application Support > com.operasoftware.Opera
