<p dir="auto">I'm living in Australia, I normally use <a href="http://google.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com</a> instead of <a href="http://google.com.au" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com.au</a> to search.<br />
I will use <a href="http://google.com/ncr" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com/ncr</a> first time I use whatever browsers to make sure I will not be redirect to <a href="http://google.com.au" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com.au</a> when I use the browser built-in search field.</p>
<p dir="auto">But this trick seems failed on Opera.<br />
My OS is Windows 7 ultimate 64.<br />
Opera version is 45.0.2552.225 beta.<br />
My language settings in Opera is English(US).</p>
<p dir="auto">If I use the search or web address field to search something, I will be redirected to <a href="http://google.com.au" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com.au</a> like this:<br />
<a href="https://www.google.com.au/search?client=opera&amp;q=test&amp;sourceid=opera&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;oe=UTF-8" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">https://www.google.com.au/search?client=opera&amp;q=test&amp;sourceid=opera&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;oe=UTF-8</a></p>
<p dir="auto">If I enter <a href="http://google.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com</a>, it will go to the <a href="http://google.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com</a> because I went to <a href="http://google.com/ncr" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com/ncr</a> before. This page is like this:<br />
<a href="https://www.google.com/#newwindow=1&amp;q=test" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">https://www.google.com/#newwindow=1&amp;q=test</a></p>
<p dir="auto">Could anyone please tell me how to fix it?</p>
<p dir="auto">Cheers,</p>

<p dir="auto">There's also another omnibox mod on Chrome store but there's a glitch with it. It works but eg. if writing/pasting keywords to address bar it goes to <a href="http://google.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com</a> but not straight to search results but to the search bar on google and then one has to press search again. I'm looking to get that fixed.. I'm very active on Github.</p>

If you wish to, you can edit the file "Local state" to change its record of what Google told it. If you are using the built-in search the rest should not matter.</p>

In the US people using<br />
google will be referred to <a href="http://google.us" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.us</a>, people in the UK get <a href="http://google.uk" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.uk</a>. The suffix<br />
for a given country is what will popup for the country you are in. Nobody gets<br />
<a href="http://google.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com</a>. To get <a href="http://google.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com</a> you must apply for it. Firefox and Google Chrome have an<br />
addon for this called Google NCR, Opera does not. I don’t know this for fact but I<br />
believe google uses your geo-location to set the search page. Using <a href="http://google.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com</a><br />
removes your location but only for an instant; you type <a href="http://google.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com</a> but the google page you get is<br />
<a href="http://google.us" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.us</a> or <a href="http://google.no" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.no</a> or whereever you are located)</p>
<p dir="auto">Add the following to settings/ browser/ other search engines<br />
Name: Google NRC<br />
Keyword: google nrc_<br />
Address: <a href="https://www.google.com/search?q=%25&amp;pws=0&amp;pws=0&amp;gl=us&amp;gl=us&amp;gws_rd=cr" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">https://www.google.com/search?q=%&amp;pws=0&amp;pws=0&amp;gl=us&amp;gl=us&amp;gws_rd=cr</a><br />
then save</p>
<p dir="auto">When you type (copy-paste) the above address into the opera adress bar it will send you to Google %s Google<br />
up in the address bar you'll see <a href="http://www.google.com/searh" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">www.google.com/searh</a> (hooray)</p>

NCR only works on <a href="http://google.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com</a> which includes American websites in the search results that are typically useless to English-speakers who are not from the United States. Opera’s approach is much better.</p>

Say he is visiting France - now, Opera remembers he is from the UK and directs him to <a href="http://google.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.co.uk</a> automatically, but his other browsers don't. If he uses Google without "/ncr" he gets results in French because he is currently in France, while if he uses "/ncr" he gets results in English ... but from the US version of Google which may not give him the results he wanted.</p>

<p dir="auto">Opera is so much better in this regard: It checks your IP address’ location once during installation and sticks to it. You could manually update your Local State file from %appdata% should you wish to have another country set as default after installation.<br />
For other browsers, I have also been using the NCR or No Country Redirection method to get Google to serve search results in English rather than the language based on my current location.<br />
The main problem with this approach is that <a href="https://www.google.co.uk/ncr" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">https://www.google.co.uk/ncr</a> does not work, so you will have to cope with American search results from <a href="http://google.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">google.com</a> instead of which many are useless unless of course you are actually from the United States.</p>
</blockquote>
<p dir="auto">I guess you should use <a href="https://www.google.com/ncr" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">https://www.google.com/ncr</a></p>
