<![CDATA[Thumbnail tabs]]>I used to use Opera (unknown version) in 2011, where tabs displayed with a thumbnail at the top of the screen. Is this feature still available in Opera 20.0?

So I guess it's no longer there. The feature is in Opera 12.16

As for Opera 20, a new browser engine (Blink) so it takes time to get some of the features that were in the browser under the Presto engine. And other features will be left to extensions. I don't think there is an interest now in adding features to the main browser engine that are going to slow it down.

you might want to do a web search to see if there is an extension in the Opera or Chrome extension store. As long as you have the Opera extension "Download Chrome Extension," you can use extensions from the chrome store.

You might want to look at the extension TooManyTabs for Chrome. It supposedly gives a birdseye view of all opened tabs.
