In the past, I would just get a note that a new version wasn't available, but I know some components got updated.</p>
<p dir="auto">Is this now dead in the water completely, or do I just have some intermittent connection issue?</p>
<p dir="auto">Well, this didn't post yesterday for whatever reason, but the upshot is the problem has disappeared.  Behaves as expected.  I am posting this now only in case others have/had the issue.</p>

I have had it happen in the developer stream, but I expected it there.  Just hadn't seen it in 12 ever.  It was always pretty good about things, from at least 3.something onward (int he pay days!)  Glad to know it's just one of those things.</p>

It will check for updates anyway at some moment.</p>
