To get functionality of usual Bookmarks button I use Bookmarks panel with just one button on it. That is a lot of wasted space. So it would be nice to see Bookmarks button in a row with other default buttons in Opera (if not by default at least as an option to enable). It could look like this: https://s4.postimg.org/8t0ieqwzx/finished.png and act just like any other Bookmarks button - drop-down menu with Bookmarks.
Sure there are extensions for that, but built-in always better/faster.
Menu -> Bookmarks (and Start Page button) also not an option, way to far and slow, too much mouse movements and/or clicks.
