opera browser vpn not working, how to fix? it just says connecting and its stuck there and not working. how to fix?

Hi @joebob321, close the VPN pop-up, and wait few seconds, reopen it again, and try to select different virtual location. If this doesn't help, go to opera:settings/clearBrowserData, and make sure you have selected "Third party services data", click on "Clear browsing data", switch the VPN on again, and see if this helps in your case.

the only virtual location I see on the drop down list it "optimal location" and I think I have tried that clear browser data thing, it didn't work.

I could confirm - Win10 x64 Opera 45.0.2545.0 - only "Optimal Location" and it's not working since mar 25 I belive.
