<![CDATA[Cannot update fron Opera 12 to Opera 43 in windows 10]]>When attempting to update Opera 12 to 43 the installation stalls at "preparing installation".

If I install 43 as a stand alone I cannot import passwords, settings or bookmarks.

Sync no longer works in Opera 12.

I've tried this on 2 computers with the same results.

Anyone with any suggestions as to how I can get 43 with bookmarks and passwords will be appreciated.

Default data files are different.
...\AppData\Roaming\Opera\Opera for 12
...\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable for 43
There are no options for changing these during installation; only for program files.

If you mean the routes according to the post, you just have to make a shortcut with those routes and switchs.

I copied wand.dat into the opera 43 folder but it wasn't recognized.

Yes, it's a Opera Presto only file and will not work with Opera Blink.

Both versions were installed in default folders. The folders are different

I may be wrong but I guess it should be the same folder.

I have been able to install 43. Importing bookmarks via HTML file works. Now, if I can import passwords that would save me a lot of hassle.

If there's no way to import passwords, is there a way to show the old passwords in 12?

I don't know about passwords as I have an external password manager. you wouldn't want to import settings because Opera 12 and Opera 15+ are completely different in that regard and they are not compatible. For bookmarks, you can export them HTML in Opera 12 and then just import them in Opera 43 from the file that is created.
