<![CDATA[Does Opera for Android support Progressive Web App install banners yet?]]>I've implemented support for a Progressive Web App install banner on my website, which works for both Chrome on desktop (Windows) and on Android, but I have not been able to make the install banner trigger using Opera for Android (or Opera desktop browser for that matter). Some setup-info:

  • Website is HTTPS enabled
  • manifest.json exists, with short_name, name, 144x144 png icon, start_url
  • A dummy service worker (suggested by Google for development testing) is registered on page load
  • I've visited the site repeatedly over several days. No banner.

What am I missing?

Try it yourself and see.
