I recently installed Opera in my Windows 8.1 laptop from the official site "www.opera.com". Today, after a month or so, I received a warning from AVG antivirus about a threat detection concerning Opera auto update. More specific it concerned the file:

c:\windows\temp\opera installer\installer.exe

and in the details of the report there are more files like:

c:\windows\temp\opera_installer_20171205130738.dll

Moreover, I would like to mention that according to the creation date-time of the above folders and files, there are very close to the date-time of the Opera 42.0.2393.137 update.

I would appreciate if anyone could answer my questions:

Are these files legit and part of the Opera update process?

Are you aware of any similar reports from any antivirus SW?

Is there any additional measures that I must take?

Thank you

Sometimes they are set to warn on things that act like a virus rather than being an actual known virus, these sort of "heuristic" warnings can be false positives.
