The text says "check it out in the clip above+ and in firefox, sure enough, there is a clip to view. In Opera, nothing. I don't mean a black box where the video should be, which I might expect from a "click to play" or a "hide ad" setting... I mean nothing at all, no indication that there is even a video there that can be played.

Here's another example from today, and in this case, the video doesn't even start with an ad, it's just a video. Again, when loaded into Opera, there is no indication that there even IS a video on the page.

What I'd suggest though, is that if a video is blocked, instead of replacing it with nothing, it could be better to replace it with a black box of some sort, where one could click if you want to load the blocked content, as opposed to there being no indication that there was anything there at all.

I understand the suggestion that you turn off blocking for the page where you want to see the content, but In the example I was using, I wouldn't have even known there WAS additional content there (to be seen via unblocking), except the text referred to there being a video to watch. A black box would at least have the advantage of communicating that there is indeed something there that you could conceivably want to unblock.

Instead, it has a list of common things that can often be considered an ad, created by the volunteers at EasyList (https://easylist.to), and based on that it tries to block ads as well as it can.

Sometimes that means a page or video breaks. Not on purpose, but because of the nature of how ads are detected. EasyList and Opera constantly try to improve the list to avoid that from happening, but it can't be ruled out - occasionally a page will break.

Because of that, Opera and other ad blockers make it easy to turn off the blocker for a specific page. If you are on a page that doesn't work, hit the shield in the address bar (the blue shield), and click the switch to turn off ad blocking for that page. That way you can continue blocking ads on all other pages where it works correctly and see the video on the Huffington Post site.

It happens when "Block Ads" is enabled in the preferences. I guess it is seeing the video as an ad (and indeed, the video begins with a video ad). If you turn off the ad block and re-load, the video box appears.

So that may explain why it's happening, but for a video, even if you want it blocked because of the ad, I think there should be a black box presented, with some indication that there is a video there that can indeed be played, if you're willing to see the ad.
