Is it so today?

I'm doing a bit of network sniffing via Microsot network monitor 3.4 (on a Win 10 PC) and it seems flash videos and other "plugins" are tunneled correctly to the VPN, but I'm not an enough experienced user to understand if this is a consequence of MS network monitor's limitations.

I've tested the VPN for plugins leaking at this URL:

https://whoer.net/ (extended version -> Interactive detection -> Run tests) and I get inconclusive N/A results.

However, although my IP is set to one located in Neatherland, the browser is leaking a rather strange IP address for DNS server (173.194.170.15 - owned by Google Inc. and located in Mountain view, California).

So, what is the state of the art of this built-in VPN for plugins? And why the DNS server is located in the USA even if the VPN server is in Europe?

BTW, I've disabled webRTC UDP without proxy in Opera, but on another test Opera is leaking a lot of IPs located in Mountain View, again.

what is the state of the art of this built-in VPN for plugins?

As far as I know it doesn't work for plug-ins and that's why plugi-ns are set to 'click to play' when you enable VPN.

Indeed, flash content is not counted in VPN quota, while HTML5 videos are.

So, I've uninstalled Flash and so far so good.

Probably they don't have one on that location?

Well, maybe they will add one in the future.
