BUT, if I go to bookmarks I can see my speeddial.

This was an automatic update.

Just noticed this. In my 42.0 a new tab says "Opera://startpage/" and in Opera 41.xxx it says "Speed Dial"

When I try to click the heart in 42.0 the address bar it doesn't give me any options http://imgur.com/a/YgKus
And in 41.xxx http://imgur.com/a/KNbIc

Can I copy a good file from my 41.xxx version to my 42.0?

I thought the problem was the "Unsorted" folder in my bookmarks file so I thought I could delete that. Can't. Tried some extensions to no avail also.

Tried new installs of 42.xxx and then sync (Best option but missing extensions), new install then importing doesn't work as it doesn't see my speeddial and the heart menu doesn't work. Gosh, I tried so many different things I don't 'member them all! LOL

Wish they had some private PM option here I would send someone my bookmark file to try.

What profile might you be referring to that's broken?

Opera's one. Try a standalone installation for some days to see if the problem happens with it.

From the earliest days I've always run a standalone installation. I had already tried this and it works fine.

I had a very good setup going (In my mind LOL). Standalone install on my desktop, back it up and then install that onto my laptop. Same speeddial, same extensions, same exact everything. Then run sync in both.

I've never had a problem upgrading versions before. There MUST be something wrong with my bookmark file somehow that messes the upgrade up.

So for the moment. I installed 42.xxx on my laptop, enabled sync. And damn, it didn't bring over my unsorted bookmarks. Might try moving those into a folder on my desktop later.

Strange. Maybe a corrupted profile?

Ok. I was running my backup of 41 on my laptop and thought I would give it a week or so and then let it try to auto-update to 42. No go. I can see the speeddial in my bookmarks but when I click on a new tab I don't see anything. Additionally the "Heart" option in the addressbar does not give me any options.

What profile might you be referring to that's broken? It works fine in 41.xxx versions.

I put the same backup onto my laptop and I will let that update naturally and see if the speeddial and connection issues still persist.

The above problems were on my desktop. Yesterday my laptop updated to 42.0. On my laptop when I click on a new tab you briefly see Opera://startpage but then it changed to "Speed Dial." But the update on my laptop created this problem: https://forums.opera.com/topic/18461/cannot-connect-to-internet-with-opera/5

Hmm. I really don't think so. I had copied my desktop install of Opera to my laptop and have been running that and when the laptop updated to 42.0 I could see the heart menu.

Not looking good for me. No responses means no one has a clue. D/l'ed 42.xxx and installed into a different directory and when I click on a new tab it says "Speed Dial."

Trying to sync now and its taking forever and doesn't seem to be working.
