Problems downloading and installing Opera on Windows XP

I tried downloading Opera from the Opera site and Avast! antivirus blocked it, saying the software is not signed. I told it to run anyway, and then I couldn't load the installer wizard on this older computer operating Windows XP, SP3.
Is it actually not signed? How do get a signed version and get the installer wizard to work? I tried numerous times but with the same result. Please help.
I saw a post on the forum that there was a download page for Windows XP and Vista, and I clicked on it but the link didn't open a page.
I appreciate any suggestions on how to solve this issue. Thank you very much.

Any other browsers? Any issues with them? ---and Avast?
Used Opera before? On this same workstation?
I did have some issues too, but let's do with you first.

When I tried the link leocg suggested, I got a "404 — Not Found" message. However, I located this one for version 36.0.2130.65:
http://www.opera.com/download/guide/?os=windows&ver=36.0.2130.65&local=y
It installed OK, but it looks like this version won't allow extensions and add-ons. When looking for some of them, it says I need to upgrade to the latest version to use them.
I had not used Opera on this computer before but I have used Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Firefox. Of those, Chrome worked best, but it is no longer supported for XP. I have had no problems lately with Avast.

Did it auto-update to 36.0.2130.80 yet? If not, then try

Woks for me too.
The direct FTP download for 36.0.2130.80 is here.
Give that a try. You'll need the setup file.
