Excel uses Microsoft Edge to open these and I do not like using Edge.</p>

If so, unless Excel specifically launches Edge, making sure Opera is the default browser for http and https should fix things so links in Excel open in Opera.</p>
<p dir="auto">Or, if it's about loading URIs to excel files in the browser, office has a browser plug-in to allow the browser to handle that. But, I think it's NPAPI, which won't work in Opera. In this case, the file should be saved and manually opened with excel.</p>
