feel free to report this problem to opera.

Works fine here with the old Opera (37.0.2192.105088) and the new updated one (37.1.2192.108356) on Marshmallow 6.0.1. Which version do you have?

DIY. long tap on the search field at duckduckgo and add to your selection list. works with most search engines.
