Newer versions (16 - 20) have an experimental switch (opera://flags -> #enable-smooth-scrolling - not working with all pages but quite good smooth scrolling can be achieved in conjunction with "Logitech Smooth Scroll" extension from Chrome). In Opera Next (21) an Opera Developer (22) there is NO "#enable-smooth-scrolling" switch! I know that this switch is experimental, but... why? Last versions of chrome still have this switch working. Is Opera to be the only browser without smooth scrolling?

It might get us closer to an answer of why this little-documented flag has yet to be incorporated as an option for everyone. Maybe it depends on your GPU or operating system.

I guess what I am asking for is for one of the developers to share some insight. While at the same time keeping my fingers crossed that this inquiry won't lead to its removal.

But starting Opera this way: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera\launcher.exe" --enable-smooth-scrolling is still possible in Opera 21 / 22 and still works. Maybe it reduces the browser's performance so developers removed that option from opera://flags. Anyway, there is no smooth scrolling in Next and Developer...
