There are List-Id headers in them. A List-Id header tells Opera to create a mailing list view for the mailing list. So, it's not a bug and is intentional by Opera.

If that doesn't work, indeed try a new installation to test with. Download the Opera Mail installer, launch it, click "options", set "install path" to a folder on your desktop, set "install for" to "Standalone Installation (USB)" and install. In that Opera, set up your mail accounts fresh. Do not import anything and do not uncheck "leave messages on server" if you're using POP.

If those same entries in mailing lists appear again, it means Opera fetched a messages that had those values in their message list headers (in the source of the messages). Most of the time when the mailing list names are gibberish, you'll find that they're coming from spam messages. If you find this to be the case, you need to delete those messages and prevent them from coming in again (via server-side filtering for example) before deleting the mailing list entries.

If I remember correctly, Opera looks for some data on the message header to get if it's part of a mailing list and also the list name.

So if you get a message with that 'command' in its header then Opera will show it as part of a mailing list.

I understand that you want to sell me this behaviour as a feature but I believe it is a bug

in this case you will need to learn how to deal with it since Opera Mail stopped being developed more than three years ago, so no bugs will be fixed.

Yes, this is how it should work.

but Opera Mail doesn-t work that way. It creates a folder for each single mail on a mailinglist.

It seems that something may be wrong with your installation or those mailing lists aren't correctly set up.

Have you tried with a separated clean installation?

Even when nothing is in them. I did like you told a couple of days ago and now there are again 20+ empty entries in the Mailinglist. I suppose the idea is that multiple emails for a single mailinglist appear under a single entry but Opera Mail doesn-t work that way. It creates a folder for each single mail on a mailinglist. The algorithme to deduce a mailing list from the mail is flawed and should be fixed.
Now I have to delete the email AND go to the mailinglist and delete the now obsolete mailinglist header. Featurewise this quialifies as a bug.

And thankg for the time burnout, but there isn't even a select all possibility in the Mailinglist. A flaw, that in the decade with erradicated the common could is just simple not acceptable.
