<![CDATA[Add-ons are gone]]>Everytime I open Opera browser, my add-ons are gone. They get uninstalled on its own. What to do?

Try installing Opera just for current user or do a standalone installation.

I just re-installed Opera ... and it keeps giving me the same problem on starting the browser.
A message comes up saying the preference info can't be read ... and all the add-on settings are
gone along with my preference settings.

What's a good fix to this problem?

In Opera's profile folder

and how can I save this preference file in a safe place

The same way you do with any file in your computer: you do a backup by copying the file to a different folder/disc/etc.

so I don't have to re-set every thing each time?

You shouldn't need to do it that often. If the problem is happening constantly then something may be wrong with your installation of Opera.

But then it may be something for another topic.

You can find the path to your profile in Menu > About Opera.
