Windows XP Dell D600 laptop can't install Opera

It will let me run it, but it won't install it. It downloads it and then it disappears and nothing happens. I can't stick with internet explorer 6 because it can hardly pull up any sites and it's dangerous but luckily I was able do pull up the opera site

Are trying to install Opera 36? It's the last version with support for XP and Vista.

You may need to have XP SP3.

Oh ok I have sp2 I'll upgrade it to sp3 when it will cooperate with my wifi
