please don't water down this thread with whining about this and that not working. write a proper bug report to opera (menu>settings>report a problem will take you to the report form) and keep this thread on its tracks.

The beta version doesn't allow you to save a file to a specified location on the device yet. This is something I very much miss from the official release. I remember that Opera Mobile would prompt for write permission to external sdcard on Android 6. The beta is not concerned with write permissions to external sdcard because it only writes to the internal storage default Downloads folder.

BTW, thanks for the forward button on main toolbar. As mrninko has mentioned in a previous comment, the forward button appears active even when a page has no forward history. That needs to be fixed.

One more thing about button layout. I find that the user button bottom right is OK, but I find it uncomfortable that the tab buttons, offline, bookmarks, history, and downloads, are at the top, since you have to stretch the thumb to the top of the screen to make a selection, while all other typing happens at the bottom of the screen. Please add an option to place these tab buttons at the bottom, or simply place them there.

When long-touching a Speed Dial icon and dragging it up to the Edit icon, thd other Speed Dial icons shift to fill the temporarily-empty space.

After editing a Speed Dial icon, long touch on icons has no effect.

I've found it out. The folder is open after clicking on its name, not folder icon. Really strange. @operamilleson

All changes are good for the new beta Opera, except:

1. Why did you removed "App layout" choice option? In my Note 5, I am comfortable with Tablet layout, not with phone layout and let the choice be on user. I like Opera over others only for this reason.

2. Another vital reason to use Opera over other is option for setting "User Agent". I use "Desktop" all the time and like it. Hope you will not be disturbing this.

3. A bug found: cannot set a speed dial screen as home page which is possible in the current stable version.

If these are corrected, then only I will upgrade to the new version otherwise will stay with the current stable version only.
Hope you will listen to the feedback and make necessary changes for the final version.

Also 2 more findings which I want to remain:

1. Able to swipe left for my History right from the main Speed dial screen.

2. Choose my download location, even being able to select a location on my micro SD for larger downloads.

Btw current 37.1 version doesn't sync my CURRENT desktop bookmarks even I have set them to be synced..

It seems to be working here. I've just added a bookmark on desktop and I can see it in Opera for Androif.

For me nothing, i can add or delete boorkmarks from desktop, change never shows up in mobile version...

For tablet users, Forward "button" is gone again. Could we get Forward and Back both on pulldown menu. Sometimes system Back doesn't take you where you want (sorry, can't give specific instances). At least for consistency, Forward and Back shld be in the same place.
